The squad also appears at local events and businesses in the greater Phoenix, Arizona area. Selected members are chosen for the "Show Team", which travels to performances in international locales.

Arizona Cardinals Cheerleader Job Overview

Arizona Cardinals cheerleaders are responsible for learning the team's dance choreography and performing it at every team home game. The cheerleaders also make promotional appearances for the team at local businesses and media events. Charitable organizations and companies in the area can make a request to have the squad appear at corporate or non-profit events as well.[1]

Members of the cheerleading squad can also tryout for the elite "Show Team", which travels to international destinations such as the Middle East and Greenland to make appearances in support of U.S. military forces.[2] The Arizona Cardinals cheerleading squad also has a junior cheer team that includes girls from 5 to 14 years of age.[3]


Arizona Cardinals Cheerleader Education

The Arizona Cardinals cheerleading squad does not require its members to complete a college degree. There is no stated requirement that members obtain a high school diploma either. However, all squad members must be at least 18 years of age by May 1 of the year in which they audition. Members must also be either a full-time student or have a full-time job in order to join the roster.[4]

Arizona Cardinals Cheerleader Training

Women who want to make the cheerleading squad must complete the team's audition rounds. Auditions are typically held each April over the course of three days. Before the auditions are held, the squad offers an athletic boot camp and a dance clinic to give new applicants an introduction to the type of fitness and choreography required of Arizona Cardinals cheerleaders.[5] The boot camp consists of makeup and hair consultations, nutritional eating tips, and a mock dance clinic to prepare for auditions.[6]
